Aleksandra Filipovic, MD, PhD

Aleksandra Filipovic MD, PhD, is the Chief Medical Officer at Gallop Oncology.

An oncology expert, with extensive clinical and leadership experience, Dr. Filipovic has been leading oncology programs at PureTech since 2015 and previously served as associate medical director of Bristol Myers Squibb (New York) for early phase (I and II) oncology and immuno-oncology clinical trials. She was also a medical doctor on staff for AstraZeneca’s Phase III immune-oncology programs.

Dr. Filipovic is a practicing clinician at Imperial College London, faculty member at the European School of Oncology (ESO), scientific and clinical committee member of Sharing Progress in Cancer Care (SPCC), associate editor for Frontiers in Oncology, as well as a member of the American Society of Clinical Oncology (ASCO), the European Society for Medical Oncology (ESMO), the American Association for Cancer Research (AACR) the Society for Immunotherapy of Cancer (SITC), the Society of Integrative Oncology (SIO) and the Multinational Association of Supportive Care in Cancer (MASCC).

Dr. Filipovic graduated from medical school at the Faculty of Medicine University of Nis, Serbia, and completed her PhD in cancer cell biology at Imperial College in London, UK. Following this, she received a fellowship from the College for the continuation of her postdoctoral translational research and continued clinical practice in medical oncology. She has established a practice focused on bringing the whole person back into personalized care.
